Tough, high density polyethylene dome absorbs impact energy and forces it away from the heart. Small size covers the vital area of the chest, yet does not restrict movement. Improves confidence and playing ability.
Heart-Gard® is small in size, measuring 6" x 6", yet is the largest rigid plate over the vital area of any protector and does not restrict movement. Kids learn faster and with greater confidence. When worn under the uniform, it is virtually invisible. Cool and lightweight, weighing less than 3 oz., kids forget they are wearing it. Adjustable elastic straps. One size fits all up to 120 lbs. Patent #5,245,706

Good idea but uncomfortable & probably ineffective - teach your kids to protect themselves instead Apr 18, 2010 My daughter took a direct hit with a softball off a bat to her chest last season, her heart stopped & she went down. Fortunately, within a minute or so, she was back with us & fine. It was a horrible experience but she came out of it ok. But from that point on, we have been very concerned about this happening again. This season, the coach required the pitchers to wear a chest protector so I ordered this product. I had mixed feelings about it when it arrived; it is pretty small & it seems a little hokey. My daughter has tried to wear it but unless she has a turtle neck underarmor on, it is miserable to wear. The straps dig into the neck if it is on securely. After about 5 tries, we finally decided to risk going without it, I was pretty disappointed. I really am skeptical of the shape of it, it seems like it might tend to cause even more injury when an impact occurs. I have since read a lot online about chest protectors & how they aren't very effective. I would not recommend this product, what I would recommend is for the coaches & parents to teach their children to protect themselves, this type of accident is most often avoidable through proper training & preparation.
